Eux Autres "You're Alight" Single (2009)
Details: LA-based three-piece Eux Autres sing and play shimmery and ebullient indie-pop. Two-track 7" released on Bon Mots Records. Promotional copy. Sticker mark on front cover and slight bends in top corners, otherwise lovely condition.
Description: This seven-inch record was released following a literary and music event that occurred at the Richard Hugo House in Seattle, called "Love Is The Drug," in 2008:
Richard Hugo House, Seattle’s center for writers, rolls out the third installment of its yearlong literary series Friday and Saturday: a colloquium of sorts on the theme “Love Is the Drug.” Just in time for Valentine’s Day, writers and poets will ponder these questions: “Whatever it is, love is certainly something we spend a good part of our lives trying to get. But why? Do we have a chemical dependence on love? Is it good for us, like vitamin C, or is it more like a cigar smoker’s nicotine habit that needs a periodic fix? Is love a cure, or does it require one?”
Scheduled to appear are Seattle poet David Wagoner, essayist Rick Moody and Portland author Monica Drake. Music will be provided by Eux Autres, an Omaha-born, Portland-based brother-sister duo, “which channels ’60s French pop and gives it a unique sensibility.” Each artist has commissioned a new work for the event.
