Details: Various "Radio Tokyo Tapes Vol. 3" LP (1985, PVC/Passport Records). Acoustic cuts from The Knitters (X), Phranc, The Minutemen, et al.

Description:  "Radio Tokyo was a Los Angeles recording studio founded by producer Ethan James that first gained attention as the studio of choice for the "paisley underground" bands of the early '80s, such as the Three O'Clock and the Rain Parade. As Radio Tokyo's reputation grew, so did the number of groups cutting sides there; everyone from the Minutemen to the Bangles ultimately recorded with James. Best of the Radio Tokyo Tapes is a superior 18-track compilation representing the studio's most enduring work; in addition to the aforementioned artists, it includes songs from Phrancthe Long Ryders, and Wednesday Week."
