Details: Used 7" record. Noticeable ring wear on the cover (both sides). Silver-injection record labels. Released on Dindisc. Classic new wave electronic track by Canadian band Martha and the Muffins from their fantastic album Metro Music released in 1980. B side, "Teddy The Dink" was a non-album release track.

Echo Beach is a 'fictional' place although several 'Echo Beach' locations do exist. Keyboardist and secondary vocalist Martha Ladly left the band after their third studio release (to continue her career path and education in the arts abroad) and went on to work with and influence artists at the time ranging from OMD to New Order, Roxy Music, Peter Gabriel, Robert Palmer, and more. The band had just recorded a full length with Canadian musician and artist Daniel Lanois, and so when the band changed to M+M (original singer Martha Johnson and Mark Gane), they continued to work and release material with different session musicians (also working with Lanois' sister Jocelyn) for years, and even very recently released the track, "Stay Home and Dance."

Description: Martha and the Muffins are a Canadian rock band, active from 1977 to the present. Although they only had one major international hit single "Echo Beach" under their original band name, they had a number of hits in their native Canada, and the core members of the band (in later years) also charted in Canada and internationally as M + M.

Grade: VG (cover) / NM (record)
