Details: Australia's The Divinyls' debut album, on Chrysalis--raw straight-ahead rock and intense power-pop bordering on punk-pop or alternative rock. Great early album released in 1983! It is STUPID/GREAT how good this thing is compared to their later commercial pop/rock releases. The track, "Ring Me Up," also appeared in the movie Sixteen Candles (John Hughes). Medium to heavy edge/corner wear on cover. Ring wear on the front and a little on the back. Record media in great condition.

Description:  Divinyls was an AOR/new wave band from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, that was formed in 1980. Australian band with core members and songwriters being Christina Amphlett and Mark McEntee. The first major release in Australia was the mini-album "Monkey Grip", songs of which were included in the Australian film of the same name and also featured Christina in a supporting role.

The band was formed in 1980 by Mark McEntee and was fronted by lead singer Chrissy Amphlett. Divinyls are, of course, best known for their international 1991 hit ‘I Touch Myself’. But by that time, the band had already enjoyed six top 30 hits in Australia, including two from their 1983 debut Desperate (‘Boys in Town’ and ‘Science Fiction’). Album track ‘Ring Me Up’ was used in John Hughes’ 1984 film Sixteen Candles. In the summer of 2020, this album was given a new remaster treatment and released as a Deluxe Edition CD.
